Digital Fingerprinting in Toronto

Inkless, electronic fingerprint capture submitted directly to the RCMP the same day - the fastest and most reliable route to a certified criminal record check.

What Is Digital Fingerprinting?

Digital fingerprinting (also called livescan) replaces ink and paper with a high-resolution optical scanner. Your fingers are placed on a glass platen, the system captures each ridge pattern instantly, and the software scores image quality on the spot - so a faint or smudged print is recaptured in seconds, not rejected weeks later.

As an RCMP-accredited agency, we transmit your fingerprints electronically to the Canadian Criminal Real Time Identification Services (CCRTIS) in Ottawa. Electronic submissions are processed far faster than mailed ink cards, and the result is a certified criminal record check accepted by employers, licensing bodies, IRCC and courts across Canada.

Who Needs Digital Fingerprinting?

  • Employment background checks (federal, financial, security-sensitive roles)
  • Immigration, permanent residency and citizenship applications
  • Security guard and private investigator licensing
  • Vulnerable sector screening for work with children or seniors
  • Adoption (domestic and international)
  • Record suspensions (pardons), name changes and waivers
  • FINTRAC compliance, real estate and mortgage broker licensing

How It Works

  1. Book online or walk in. Bring two valid government-issued IDs (at least one with photo) and any reference letter or file number from the requesting agency.
  2. We verify and capture. A certified technician confirms your identity, enters the purpose of your check and scans all ten fingers - about 10-15 minutes in total.
  3. Same-day electronic submission. Your prints go to RCMP CCRTIS the same business day over a secure, encrypted channel.
  4. Results delivered. Certified results are mailed by the RCMP directly to you or the address you designate. Most clear results arrive in about 3 business days.
Turnaround note: around 3 business days is typical when no record exists. If fingerprints match a record, or your application requires manual review, RCMP processing can take 120 days or more. Book early when you have a deadline.

Why Digital Beats Ink

  • Instant quality scoring - virtually no rejections
  • Same-day transmission instead of mailing paper cards
  • No ink on your hands, no smudging, no re-dos
  • Encrypted end-to-end and fully auditable

Some U.S. and international agencies still require ink cards - if that is your case, see our ink & roll fingerprinting service. Not sure which one you need? Email us and we will confirm it for you before you book.
