Frequently Asked Questions

Everything clients ask us before they visit - and a few things you did not know to ask.

Before Your Visit

Two valid government-issued IDs, at least one with your photo. Accepted examples include a passport, driver's licence, Ontario photo card, permanent resident card, citizenship card, certificate of Indian status, military ID or foreign passport. Expired ID cannot be accepted.
Walk-ins are welcome any time during business hours. Booked appointments are served first, so booking is recommended around lunchtime and late afternoons. Booking online takes under a minute.
Plan for 10-15 minutes for one person and one service. Ink cards with multiple sets, or group visits, take a little longer.
Arrive with clean, dry hands. If your skin is very dry, moisturize the night before (not right before the visit). Avoid cuts or fresh injuries to fingertips where possible - if a finger is bandaged, call us first.
Yes. There is no age limit when fingerprints are legitimately required (adoptions, immigration, visas). Our technicians are experienced with faint ridges in seniors and small hands in children.

Results & Turnaround

Digital submissions reach the RCMP the same business day. When no record exists, certified results are typically mailed within about 3 business days. If a record exists, you submitted ink-converted prints from abroad, or manual review is needed, the RCMP can take 120 days or more.
Wherever you direct them: your home address, your lawyer, the requesting agency, or an address overseas. The RCMP mails certified results directly - they never pass through third parties.
No private company can expedite the RCMP itself - anyone promising that should be treated with caution. What we control is everything before the RCMP: same-day capture, correct paperwork and same-day electronic submission, which is the fastest legitimate route.
Usually, yes. Bring the rejection letter; it tells us why the prints failed. Our digital equipment scores quality instantly, and difficult prints (age, trades, dry skin) are a daily routine for our technicians.

Services & Payments

If the requesting agency mentions 'certified', 'RCMP', 'fingerprints' or immigration/citizenship purposes, you need the fingerprint-based check. Simple employment and volunteer screening usually accepts the same-day name-based check. Email us the request letter and we will confirm for free.
Yes - we take FD-258 cards to FBI standards, complete them with you and guide your submission to the FBI or an FBI-approved channeler. See our FBI & U.S. fingerprinting page.
Yes. Have ink prints taken locally, email us a scan for a free quality pre-check, then courier the originals - we digitize and submit them to the RCMP and results are mailed wherever you direct. See International Fingerprinting.
Debit, all major credit cards, cash and e-Transfer. Corporate clients can arrange monthly invoicing.
Yes. Capture happens on certified equipment, transmission to the RCMP is encrypted end-to-end, and we retain only what regulation requires - nothing is sold or shared.
